The DC Wildlife

After searching out and finding wildlife in Kodiak over the last 4 years such as bears, eagles, Whales, sea lions, etc.... this past weekend we took to looking for wildlife in DC. After a lot of hiking around we were able to sneak up on this Giant Panda sleeping on a jagged mountain range in central China, in the Sichuan Province

Okay so we didn't walk to China but we did walk to the Smithsonian's National Zoological Park (the Zoo) where they have 3 Giant Pandas. Here Tia Shan (the Zoo's newest attraction) sleeps in his uncomfortable spectacle room.

Like father like son. Here Tian Tian (Tia Shan's father) sleeps in his bedroom

At least we got to see mama (Mei Xiang) up and about. Here she s eating some bamboo.

Seeing the Pandas made the trek in the heat worthwhile besides most of outdoor animals were doing what we should have been that is sleeping in a shady area out of the sun
