A Break from Spring Cleaning

While the Mrs. has been away I have been doing some Spring Cleaning and a few other things around the house to kill the time before she gets back (and between televised Red Sox games). Well this weekend I got a welcomed and favorite relief.... some dad / daughter time. The boy is 18 now and besides working and chasing women (yes he courting 2) was to busy to come up for the weekend (been there done that).

The girl arrived last night so we just had a quick bite, a little TV, and early to bed to rest up for today. We started off the day with quick walk for Japhy to get him out and ended up at our new favorite little local coffee shop (no its not a Starbucks or Duncan Donuts). If you look outside the door, there is Japhy being his usual well behaved self waiting patiently for our return.

After a few chores of cleaning up the poop in the yard (thanks hun) and cutting the grass, it was off for more fun. The waterfront was bustling with people playing Volleyball, biking and tanning so we just soaked up the rays and 80 degree temps (4th day in a row). Japhy had a ball with the girl, more than my lets just walk and then go home.

My attempt to get a nice serious pic of the girl with the pretty colors, especially with this blooming pink tree in the background proved fruitless so I ended up with this awesome pic of her acting like herself with the pretty pink tree.

After walking around the waterfront for awhile we decided to get some outside lunch and be daring. We opted for Ethiopian!! I had to do a lot of research on what we had so here goes. The girl went for the vegetarian on Injera bread a kind of crepe / pancake like bread that is actually more like a fermented sourdough starter. Here she is inspecting her lunch.

I went with the Kitfo which is a minced raw beef marinated in a very spicy chili powder and niter kibbeh (a clarified butter infused with herbs and spices) also served on Injera. Okay more tomorrow.
