Fall Hiking
Today's hike took us to an area where 66 years go was over run by spies, saboteurs, guerrilla leaders. Fortunately they were ours. We hiked around Prince William Forest. It is 15,000 acres that is the largest piedmont forest in the National Park Service and the largest greenspace in the DC metropolitan region. Back between 1941 -1945 6000 acres was used as the training area for the Office of Strategic Services which later became the CIA and as a matter of fact Julia Child trained and worked there before going overseas.
