This past Sunday we got to see our first baseball game in a long time. We watched the Boston Red Sox play the Washington Nationals...kind of, well not really. Actually we watched the Wilmington Blue Rocks (Class A, Red Sox Farm Team) play the Potomac Nationals (Class A, Nats Farm Team). Other then the fact it was 102 degrees and by my 3rd beer I was delirious it was a fun day. My co-worker just got a promotion and to celebrate we all went to the game (despite the fact he is a Yankees fan, we went anyway).
Some of my co-workers and their families enjoying a cookout before the game.
We had great seats for the first of a double header but unfortunately we only could handle the first game due to the heat. To bad because the Blue Rocks lost that game 7-2 but won the second game 11-6.
Here is our group watching the game. That's my boss next me acting 15 and this was taken just before the Yankees fan behind me figured out I was a Red Sox fan. It's my co-worker's son and he was ready to hit me when I continually asked him what the Yankee's record was.
Uncle Slam the Nat's mascot sat and watched with us for a spell (southern word for "awhile").
