Another trip back in time

Yesterday we took a day trip to Annapolis, MD. Annapolis has been around since 1649 and has been an important seaport and Maryland's capital since 1709. It was a good trip back to the past seeing as the future doesn't look to bright right now.

A view of historic downtown, most of the buildings have been here since the early 1800s and some from the 1700s.

The same with the houses. The little store on the left (Capital Teas) has been there since 1890 and has one family own it for five generations.

The Mrs. in front of the Mary Land Inn. The inn has been around since 1776 and has hosted a number of early leaders of the country. ....Eleven delegates of the 1783-84 U.S. Congress stayed at the Inn, as they were in Annapolis to hear George Washington resign as commander in chief of the Continental Army and ratify the Treaty of Paris. And it is rumored that the likes of Benjamin Franklin and John Adams enjoyed their fair share of libations at the Inn’s tavern.

One of the oldest buildings in Annapolis the Shiplap house was built in 1715 and was a tavern and general store.

Annapolis is also home to the US Naval Academy
