George Washington didn't sleep here, but.....

President Reagan did sit here and eat and drink here. Last night the Mrs., kids, and I went out for dinner and the annual Christmas Tree lighting at City Hall. We started by having dinner at Pat Troy's, but instead of our usual bellying up to the bar we sat in the respectable people seating (we did have the kiddos). The area we sat in entertained President Ronald Reagan on St Patrick's Day in 1988. The story goes that the Prez, feeling his Irish roots decided to do what every Irishman (and everyone else for that matter) does on St. Patty's Day.... go out drinking. He asked his Secret Service detail where they should go and as luck would have it a few of them when not protecting the Prez hung out at Pat Troy's, the rest is local history.

This is all the original settings from President Reagan's table including the bill that he paid for himself.

The Mrs. and kiddos sitting in President Reagan's Corner waiting for dinner. The boy felt he was deceived because he ordered the Guinness burger and mashed and when it arrived it was patty on top of the mashed smothered in gravy and no bun!!

One of the many pictures of a much younger looking Pat Troy (and for that matter a much more alive looking Prez) that adorn the corner area

From dinner it was off to join the merry makers waiting for the tree lighting, singing, dancing and merry making at the kick of what is sure to be a looooooooong drawn out 32 days of commercials on TV.

After some introductions including Santa it was time for the countdown. Now while its not the biggest tree around it is nice and they did a great job.

Nice!

I love the addition of handmade videos, too.

I'm playing around with it, the new camera can zoom during video so it's easier to get good close up footage.
