The secret Bars still exist

Long gone are the days where one would have to know where a bar was located in order to drink alcohol, heck today there is pretty much a bar on almost every corner. Even in little podunk Kodiak there are at my count 10 establishments that serve adult libations. Well here in Old Town where bars and pubs ARE on every corner there is still a throw back to the days of prohibition. If one is in the know, because they don't advertise, one can find a modern day speakeasy located right out in plain view. To the passer by it looks like any ordinary house or building, but if your privileged to have been given the information you will know that it is in fact a bar.

I'm not allowed to divulge the name or the exact location, but suffice it to say that's this unsuspecting entrance way is an upscale speakeasy that caters to the 30+ crowd of Old Towners. Notice the little peep hole that is used to make sure its a patron and not the G-Men and yes you have to knock and if your lucky allowed inside.

While looking up speakeasy I was amused to find out that the modern day speakeasy now cater to smokers in areas that have smoking bans in bars, they are called Smokeasy
