Besides the US Botanic Garden Museum, this past weekend we toured around the Capital Hill Historic District. The first stop was Barrack's Row, the birthplace of John Philip Sousa and the oldest continuously manned Marine installation in the nation.
Although I was unsure why the Mrs. picked this area to explore until she ducked out of sight into this store. After a little kicking, screaming and dragging we were back to exploring.
This is a cool looking old bank that is only two stories and only looks to have about four offices upstairs and a small lobby. I couldn't find any history on it.
This just seemed odd and wrong in so many ways. Do you want to eat at a cafe that is right next to a place that does colon hydrotherapy??? And do you want to walk out onto Main St from there having people wondering what you just did??
Next it was on to Eastern Market, but first a stop at our new favorite hot sauce shop in DC. Uncle Brutha's is a cool little shop not only because of the hot sauce, but there are 3 generations working there. When we arrived the owner, his son and his mother were scurrying around selling hot sauce.

Eastern Market has been the spot to get all your fresh veggies, meats and fish along with some cool little artist booths since 1878.

After walking for hours I figured I would take a break on the grounds of the Capital and wait for a senator or two to wander by and give them some advise. Silly me it was a Sunday.
