We heard this word spoken loudly 3 times last Sunday and we knew something was happening. Oyez means "hear ye" and when yelled by the Town Crier it summons all the town people for an announcement or event. The Town Crier pre-dates newspapers and was the only way local news made it to the local folks. Here he is announcing the start of the Presidents Day Parade in Old Town. Usually not a big deal unless you live in George Washington's home town.
The start of the parade was those bad biker dudes of Alexandria.... opps I mean good biker dudes.

This is a little shout out to my father and grandfather, although I think both came on after this vehicle was used but maybe not gramps.
Not sure what this is.... maybe the Green Party's mascot????
And no parade would be complete without guys dressed up in old clothes
