Unlike down in the United States traffic jams are infrequent UNLESS they are self induced. It never fails that when we get more than 1/2" of snow on the ground SOMEONE will decide that 18mph is the safest speed to drive the whole 8 miles into town from the base. I know 8 miles is a short distance to people that have more then 100 miles of drivable roads, but here that is an eternity. Also you might laugh at the fact there were only 20 cars in said traffic jam but when that represents half the cars in Kodiak its a lot. Here is a picture of me as car 12 in traffic, my usual 5 minute ride took a WHOLE 10 minutes today.
