We are still paying for the nice weekend we had in the form of day three of rain, most of it torrential at times and all of it constant. This is sad to because today was the kick of the 2007 Kodiak Crab Festival. Instead of bustling carny rides and booths galore it looked like tarp city but the soggy show went on.
Now as far as the good.... there has been a lot of shuffling and jockeying going on at the Mrs. work with some folks leaving and some moving around, with all that the Mrs. ended up moving from her position as the Environmental Education Coordinator to the Environmental Coordinator, where besides doing the education programs she will now be doing grant work and assisting with the Brownfields clean up program. The really nice thing is she has almost doubled her salary and has full benefits.
The bad...... read the above paragraph!! this will cut into our adventure time.
And the ugly.... I have been sporting this alien baby looking thing on my eye for about 2 weeks that won't go away using conventional medicine. Tonight the Mrs. made up a herbal potion thing that I'm trying in the hopes it goes away. It doesn't hurt but I'm getting tired of talking to people as they stare at my sty. Here I am looking like a Civil War victim letting the concoction soak in, it smells like maple syrup which has me craving pancakes:
(A note from The Sheep's Wife: The concoction is slippery elm bark mixed with Usnea lichen. The former is for drawing out yucky things, the latter is antibacterial. The bandana belonged to my dad from his hippie/biker days. It's one of my most treasured possessions.)
